Off the shelf by Lucy Felthouse

I read this novella as a separate download and then realised I had this story also in my next book to review as part of the Secret library Silk Stockings .

Full review coming soon of Silk Stocking and the other 2 stories.

At 35, travel writer Annalise is fed up with insensitive comments about being left on the shelf. It’s not as if she doesn’t want a man, but her busy career doesn’t leave her much time for relationships. Sexy liaisons with passing acquaintances give Annalise physical satisfaction, but she needs more than that. She wants a man who will satisfy her mind as well as her body. But where will she find someone like that? It seems Annalise may be in luck when a new member of staff starts working in the bookshop at the airport she regularly travels through. Damien appears to tick all the boxes; he’s gorgeous, funny and intelligent, and he shares Annalise’s love of books and travel.
The trouble is, Damien’s shy and Annalise is terrified of rejection. Can they overcome their fears and admit their feelings, or are they doomed to remain on the shelf?

I have read a few of Lucy's books now and found she has such an easy reading style, she really knows people and how they think its just the little things that make her characters come to life and this book was no exception.
The book has a great start with a sexy hot scene of Annalise playing with her favourite rabbit; a girl after my own heart.
Annalise a travel writer accidentally meets the fun lovable Damian in a book shop and they chat over muffins and coffee. Her Mum, family and friends assume she would be single forever and had given up trying to fix her up with guys, where she suffered continual embarrassment and humiliation from blind dates etc. She had dreamed of someone who liked her for her, not just her body.

I was completely comfortable with Annalise she was so relateable and I adored Damian as he was my kinda guy fun, friendly not too flirty a real gent; embarrassed about little things. Most of all funny he made me laugh.
I thoroughly enjoyed this fast easy flowing read and at only 65 pages is perfect to grab some "me" time with. This is an adorable romance that ends in a super passionate sex scene built from the sexual tension that had been building beautifully throughout the story. I found Annalise so likeable it felt like I was watching a best friend having a romance with someone I knew; they felt so familiar. Lucy really brings these two characters to life making them completely real in your imagination; she adds the little things that we all do to make them familiar to us on print.. er...ok pixels.
The ending was expected for me but so very steamy, it was such a great sex scene as it was completely natural as these two were completely made for each other;I loved this novella. A wonderful romance story, quite vanilla but oh so very natural and sexy; another great read from Lucy felthouse.
